Poetry and Illustration Exhibit ~ March 24th 2009
"Adirondack Dreams and Visions"
On March 4th 2009 Izzie Worthen, Library Director, presented Kevin McClary, publisher of the Adirondack Express, a copy of  "Life In The Adirondacks" which is the collection of all of the works that were submitted for the 2008 event.  The presentation was in thanks for all the Exress does to help publish the anthology each year.  The 2009 anthology, Adirondack Dreams & Visions, should be available by late Fall.
Funding for this project has also been provided by The New York State Council on The Arts administered by The Central New York Community Arts Council, Inc. and The Friends of The Old Forge Library.

On March 24th, prizes were awarded and winners announced for this year's entries at the opening exhibit at 7:00PM.  Participants whose poems and illustrations won or received honorable mention in their divisions had the opportunity to read and/or discuss their work.  Following the presentations a reception was held, hosted by the Friends of the Old Forge Library.
The exhibit will be on display in the library wing during April and May in celebration of National Library Week. (see Contest Announcement>)
